Re: What would you buy?
An audio interface (NI Komplete Audio 6, perhaps) and studio monitors (Rokit 5, perhaps). I have kick ass Joseph reference monitors (RM7XL) with Adcom preamp and Adcom 5800 power amp, but those are currently my home stereo.
After that it's time to start getting some hardware synths. Minibrute, perhaps.
I have a very limited budget, so this is kind of the 1-2 year plan.

8" monitors. Working wth 5" and a woofer (all yamaha hs series). Not really seeing the woofer as useful right now. Wish I purchased two 8's instead of the woofer. Maybe m not using it correctly

Re: What would you buy?
If I could get *anything*.... it would be an IGS Audio ONE leveling amp/opto compressor. I just upgraded to an analog mixing board and I would love to put that compressor one one of my aux buses. I love the character of the plugin, but I've heard the hardware sounds even better.

Likewise. Kicking myself for saving a bit of money and getting one with only two inputs, but then how could I have known the hardware bug would bite meantarktika wrote:An interface with more Inputs.

Just got a new Electribe that has killed a lot of my gear lust at the moment, but I've been eyeing a DSI Pro2 for awhile now.

i think i would upgrade my furniture right now. rocking a crappy ikea desk and a bunch of keyboard stands and plywood.
runner up
i've always wanted an MPC 1000 or 2000XL
(though the workflow looks exhausting)

i'd love to hear a pro/ cons list. (in a PM if you don't want to do it here)

My friend in SF bought one, that thing sounds freaking amazing! IMO his so far best combination of old school tech and modern concepts. Seriously, literally everything you do on it sounds like butter.Tarekith wrote:Just got a new Electribe that has killed a lot of my gear lust at the moment, but I've been eyeing a DSI Pro2 for awhile now.

Re: What would you buy?
I'm looking at picking up a MPK88 or the new Arturia 88 key controller.
Would like something that makes playing piano libraries fun, and works with these orchestral libraries I picked up.

Re: What would you buy?
They have both at my local GC. The Arturia felt REALLY cheap and the akai is REALLY stiff. Not that I'm some genius at playing piano but frankly, midi controllers are still way behind the year.
Re: What would you buy?
i'd buy a suit that would let me float around like that guy on Dune.

With or without the boils?
