NAMM 2015. Anything exciting?

Post by yur2die4 » Thu Jan 22, 2015 3:41 pm

I did not get a chance to see Korg's showcase video for the ARP Odessey yet. They really hyped it up so I'm curious.

Createdigitalmusic has something about a new Roland mixer that i haven't gotten to reading yet.

There is a Launchpad PRO???

Also, some of Korg's ipad apps are 50% off.

And then there is the Akai controller.

Any other news from hardware or software-land ?

The new all-in-one Pioneer DJ hardware looks intriguing. A lot of the functionality of a laptop DJ setup without needing a laptop complete with 7 inch display.

Not bad at $1,400 considering the price they sell their starter single deck for. Read a review about their iOS app that lets you access the library on your iPhone or iPod Touch that gave it 1 star simply because the price of their hardware and thinking DJing is only for rich people.

That launchpad pro has a lotttt of interesting qualities. I don't even know what it all has yet.

I see midi in / out. I wonder how it handles without a computer, to a hardware synth or drum machine?

It is what everyone has been asking for, especially the colors and the velocity/pressure sensitivity.

It appears that the trade offs might be that it requires more power and is 'bulkier'. But wow does the LP Pro look impressive.

Not at Namm but a new product in development. Keith McMillen K-Mix. Looks like a very flexible unit.

The main things which interest me about the Roland mixer are te step-sequenced fx with the ability to have then apply or not apply to a channel, and the addition of an fx insert. But it looks limited in some weird ways too.

Arturia finally revealed an audio interface they've been teasing and it looks weird as fuck
