Virgin Territories? (Enabling & Disabling Automation Data)

Post by escmode » Sat Feb 21, 2015 3:41 pm

Hello,

I just read of a new feature in Cubase 8 called Virgin Territories which essentially omits redundant automation data between automated events:

when activated, no automation data is written between two automated events on the same track, making it possible to freely use the space in between two automations for parameter adjustments.

Is there a way to achieve this in Live, so essentially you can automate the enabling and disabling of automation data?

Specifically, for what I want to achieve:

I'm using NI's Molekular which uses a step sequencer to change pitch, at certain points I am overriding that sequence by drawing in a pitch envelope into live to hit the exact note I want. So I need to deactivate my Live automation while the sequencer is running, and then enable it again at certain points on the timeline - and this needs to be automated in itself so it's part of the arrangement (for total recall).

Any ideas? Tks...
