Convert drums to midi doesn't use the selected sample?

Post by rydn » Tue May 12, 2015 12:32 am

I just tried the "Convert drums to midi" functionality, clicking on a chain of Gold Baby drum hits in one sample. There was a pop up and a progress bar, my sample's name was listed. Then a new drum track was open. And it was full of 606 samples, not my samples.

What the heck?

I'm just getting back into Live after a couple years off, so forgive me if there is an obvious fix or something.

I think what you're looking for us Slice to MIDI.

Convert analyzes the audio and creates a pattern based off of the original so that you can apply your own sounds to it.

Slice to midi takes an audio file and cuts it to pieces so that you can trigger back any of those parts individually instead of all as a single long audio clip.
