Calling all NYC Abletoniacs... Cool free event TONIGHT...

Post by Sales Dude McBoob » Wed Jun 22, 2005 12:43 am

Livers,

Tonight, the night of Wednesday June 22nd, you should go to the corner of 34th and Broadway at 7PM. Enter the building and take the elevator to the 9th floor and exit it. There won't be signs on the elevator saying whats on the 9th floor, just go there. You will be in a music place called SAE. Follow the signs that point you to the room where M-Audio is presenting M-World.

They are going to demo Live and iZotope software, among other things. It's really pretty cool. Here is the letdown... they don't have Live 5 to show you.. BUTT, Kyle from M-Audio will school you on 4 and surely show you worlds of things you haven't discovered in 4 yet. And the iZoptope demo is really awesome too.

And it's free. And there WILL be cookies. Free cookies. The kind you eat.

There just may well be an actual Ableton employee there too, so if you have Ableton questions tomorrow night, don't post them here, go straight to the source. I'd tell you who the Ableton person is... but I forget his name because I'm a space cadet. :| Doh!

Oh yeah, tell 'em McBoob sent ya. [they'll look at you funny]
Seriously though, you should check it out.

i teach in the EMP program there.

i teach time based effects, synthesis, reason, live, MPC2000, and music theory.

and i'm pissed that y'all cats eat in there. My students aren't allowed to, and technically i'm not supposed to. (i do anyway)

Well I have to go on record and admit that I consumed three 1/2 sandwiches (two ham, one turkey), a Mrs. Field's blueberry muffin (highly reccomended btw), and an iced coffee in your room today.

Forgive me muffin. I consumed a member of your species in your very lair today.

It was wrong. And I am sorry.

Now get back to fucking your students.

[God, that's horrible! I couldn't help myself. What's the matter with us?]

right then, I need to update my bulletin...

When the elevator door opens up, walk out of the elevator. Be sure to hang on tight to that giant bag of food under you arm, you don't want to spill it on the floor before you get a chance to eat it in the class. Follow the signs down the hall that say M-World-->. When you get get to the M-Audio door, pop in real quick and grab a cookie. Go out the door and continue down the hall to the next door and sneak into Muffin's class for some real Live action! 8O

M-World NYC

Post by Swampy » Thu Jun 23, 2005 9:52 pm

A big thanks to everyone who came down to M-World NYC on the 23rd! We had 2 days of dealer training, then a great public clinic last night! Also a big thanks to Mark from iZotope who amazed the crowd of 60+ users and I know about 20 of them said they were going to go out and buy one of those plug-ins this week! Jesse did indeed show up and although we didn't show Live 5 we talked about a lot of the new features and showed some cool tricks in Live 4! One last big thank you to Chris Griffin who came down and showed how he integrates Live and ProTools M-Powered to do TV soundtracks and remixing!

To keep up on M-Audio events invluding Live clinics...check out:

Information on Live 5 release clinics and a big party coming in July!!

See you all down at one soon!

was one of those Ozone? I really need a good mastering plug and I'm torn between that and T-Racks.

I speak to a lot of people that really like T-Racks, but Ozone is pretty outstanding, esp considering the pricetag.

Phew! Looking at this thread I think to myself, gee, that was fun, but golly, I sure hope the tounge-in-cheekieness I'm putting forth isn't being misinterperated.

Ahh hell. It's all in good fun. Hey Muffin, if you ever want to grab a coffee and a muffin before work (seeing as we work a few blocks from one antoher and we both spend a good chunk of our workday showing people Live)--- I'm buying!
