Live 9 not seeing Fruity Loops VST

Hope someone can help.

I have Live 9 and Fruity Loops 12, both 64 bit.

I have installed the FL12 64 bit dll in my custom VST folder.

Despite scanning and rescanning, Ableton does not see the VST.

My other 64 bit VSTs work fine.

Any ideas?

Isn't FL12 a DAW, not a VST?

FL12 comes with an additional VST. The idea seems to be to enable FL to appear inside another DAW and be used from there. (There are good Youtube videos on doing this with Omnisphere, for example).

Unfortunately the documentation on both the FL and Ableton side is pretty sparse on how to actually set it up and get it working though, hence I was hoping someone here would be able to share their experience.
