i dont print mixes a lot out of hesitance regarding workflow and signal chain, but after chopping up in my room every night after work this past year, I'm getting a better idea of how to mix; at least more-so than when i originally started.
here is a rough mix of a boom bap joint i rough-drafted up yesterday. basic eq/compression applied and pushed through a light mix bus finalized with a limiter. planning to apply some mid-side processing. after referencing in my car as well as good & bad headphones, i can personally say the low end sticks out way too much between the kick and sub, and the high transients could use some taming.
