Hi all
Virtually it all works but it doesn't.
Ipad going on the same WIFI as computer
TouchOsc Bridge running
TouchOsc editor imported "ableton"layer and synced with Ipad
Livecontrol2 Running (?)
Midi setup was made like on the vids and tutorials I found.
I think this is a reccurent question.
But I only found people having trouble making it work and never anyone happy and giving the answer ...
So I'm asking again.
Livecontrol2/ TouchOsc on Ipad to control Ableton Live ... urban (geek)legend or does it work for real ?
Anyone is using touchOsc on an Ipad to control AbletonLive ?
Re: Anyone is using touchOsc on an Ipad to control AbletonLive ?
Ask Angstrom for his solution, he figured it out

I have used TouchOsc with the old LiveControl template on Windows 7, it worked well enough if that's what you want (a version of Live on your iPad)
I can't say much more about setting that up unless I know what platform you are on. Really the crux is setting the output IP address and ports on your TouchOSC.
In the end I found it a little limited and not entirely what I needed.
Cut to the chase: my opinion
If you want a dedicated Ableton Live interface with 1-to-1 correlation on your iPad you might want something like TouchAble, because the old (TouchOSC based) LiveControl is a bit dated now. It can be made to work, but it's not the best a man can get if you want a specific AL interface
If you want a custom interface with Ableton Live, like - you want to grab a few track volumes, or the transport or BPM - then I'd say get something like EraserMice's OSCulator pack. That's all I needed, because I am using TouchOSC to control Reaktor, and I just needed a few bit of additional info from Live.
