Solo Midi Notes

Post by hfasher » Tue Jun 23, 2015 2:10 am

Hey users,

Is there a way to solo midi notes in the midi area?

Im aware that I can select everything else and hit 0 but this seams cumbersome. I want to be able to select a note and solo it?

Surely its possible but I cant find it.

Cheers,

Hugh

Try this:

Key-map or midi-map one or both buttons.

I figured just being able to midi or key map the button would be more sensible than having a floating window that you'd have to click on, so you may need to use that Toggle button at the bottom right, depending on which you're using.

The button in Toggle mode works if you key-map the solo button, but with some midi controllers it presses the button twice, so you'd want to switch the Toggle button and it will say 'Button'.
It may depend on your midi controller.

If you've never key-mapped controls before. Press Ctrl/cmd-k and Live should go into key-map mode. Then you can select the Solo button and press a key on your keyboard (try the comma key)
then select the Invert button and press the period key.

Now go into any midi clip and select the notes you want to solo and press the , key. Your notes should be solo'd. Then press the . key. The muted notes should unmute and the unmuted notes should mute!

Let me know if it's not working right.
