Recurring Kernel Panics

Perhaps I should have posted sooner, but I've come to my wit's end.
I'm using a late 2013 Macbook Pro with 2.3 ghz i7, 16 GB ram, Intel Iris Pro Graphics, on 10.9.5. My audio interface is a Duet2, and I'm running Live 9.1.
I use Ableton primarily for scoring movies with an external monitor hooked up and despite all efforts, I keep getting kernel panics. Here's what I've done:
-clean install to Yosemite *crash*
-clean instal back to Mavericks *crash*
-ran everything without the external monitor, just fine
-external monitor hooked up through thunderbolt and HDMI *crash*
-had the logic board replaced with all new ports on both sides of my macbook *crash*
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there something I'm missing that I should try?
