Looking for cheesy uplifting tracks...

Post by Pitch Black » Mon Jul 20, 2015 7:09 am

Hello Friends

So I've landed this corporate audio-editing gig where they need 30 walk-up music tracks made for an awards dinner. Happy, uplifting stuff to play as people walk up to the podium to collect their award.

I have to source and edit these 30 tracks into 60sec highlights edits (slam straight in on the big chorus etc - you get the idea) The only thing is, they need them all done by Wednesday... and I'm stupid busy at the moment but can't afford to pass up this filthy corporate lucre! So, if anyone has any suggestions of current/top 40/pop/dance/EDM/cheesy/uplifting/we're-so-awesome!!-type tracks, I would be incredibly grateful!

Either a track title, or artist name suggestions would be most welcome, save me searching down endless rabbit holes in a genre I have no connection to...

All suggestions gratefully received! Let the fromage flow!!! :)

Firestone by Kygo is popular at the moment. Very upbeat chorus/riff and the chant is "We light up the world."

Thank you, but needs to be "modern/current" not retro.

The Ones - Flawless

I like this one, but figured it would be a good award receiving song

Oh yeah, that was one of first things in the pot - along with "Everything Is Awesome" from the Lego movie. Such a finely tuned piss-take of just the type of song that was in the brief!

Maybe you could fit in the best song ever: The Fox by Ylvis. From the 2:56 mark where it gets energetic and they sing "What do you say? You're my guardian angel. Hiding in the woods. What is your sound?" Then the fox sings while doing his groovy dance.

Did they tell you the type of each award? Those lyrics from The Fox might fit something like best Team Player or best Quiet Achiever.

 well played on the Lego track

Maybe throw some Girillaz Feels Good Inc in there?... It's still relevant in this context, I think. Or at least have it ready if you're still struggling near the end of the list.

Or you could get cocky and pick certain parts of Royals by Lorde out for the suits.

ok, not trendy or modern, but a damn great track by the greatest artist in rock'n'roll, and a track opening that invites people to walk in full glory up to that stage:

andy - frank zappa (preferably the 'best band you never heard' album).
