One knob for hp lp filter?
Can anyone help me figure this out? I want one knob to go from sweeping up a hp filter and going the other direction sweeps down a lp with the middle position leaving the track un-effected. Do I need the midi twister with its super knob functions for this?

I have an Ableton rack that does this, you can map it to any midi controller you want:

It's called Twister Filter.

Do you have M4L?
I made one for myself, consisting only of a small M4L-Device (called the double-knobble) with one knob for Hi-Lo-Cutting (midi mappable) and an EQ8 which does the actual filtering. Middle position (64) is unfiltered signal, turning left/right does Hi- respectivly Locut. The double-knobbble can also be used for other effects where you want to control two effects with one knob. It actually is a really really simple and stupid, but totally working and trouble-free soloution.
It uses only one EQ8 (and the M4L device i made) so its quiet cpu-friendly.
I am at work at the moment but if anyone is interested I can post it later with a little explanation so everybody can use it for his own filters and effects.

The great Steve Duda has a free one over at Xfer Records. Sounds just like the Pioneer DJM filter. There are some other great free plugins there too.

I have slightly different approach to this, maybe less sweepy and more for layering:Tarekith wrote:I have an Ableton rack that does this, you can map it to any midi controller you want:
