Library Missing

My library has disappeared.

My instruments, sounds, etc. all gone!

I'm on Live 9.It used to be that you could rebuild the library, but I can't find that feature anywhere.

Help, I can't do anything right now!

Also, if I click on "Packs", I can see all my installed packs, but I can't see anything under the packs - i.e. they don't open up in the tree.

I can still use my instruments though if I open an existing project.

Oh god - why have you done this to Ableton?

I was so looking forward to squeezing in some time to write music.

Why can't rebuild the library anymore?

I deleted the file in:
C:\ProgramData\Ableton\Live 9 Suite\Resources\Database

After restarting, it seems to be fixed...

I've got the problem again today even though there are no files in the database folder.

I'm stuck again, and support just told me to reboot my computer.

Seems I'm having the same issue. Forgot to uncheck the Auto-Update feature in preferences and it seems now 9.2.1 has gotten rid of all my patches and presets. Gone. So frustrating. This was on Saturday, August 8. Now, Sunday morning, rebooted several times. Still missing everything. WTF?

I'll contact Support as well.

If you find a solution, please post here!

I had to go to Preferences > Library, and reset the Location of User Library.

For me I had to hit Browse and go to Users/myname/Music/Ableton/User Library/

For some reason, not sure if it was updating to 9.2.1 or installing Elektron OverBridge, but this path got corrupted. Now I have manually reset it and all my patches and racks and presets are showing again in the Live browser. Just another fun monthly Ableton mystery to solve. Woo hoo.

Make sure you don't have anything typed in the search box at the top of the browser pane. If you have two or more letters typed in that field (that don't happen to match the first letters of anything in the library), it'll look like everything is gone.

Moose, yer a GENIUS! that was it. It looked like awful doom and gloom, but justerase the search box and it's fixed: THANKEE!
