Ableton crashing at startup

Hi,

just installed live 9.2.2 on my new mbp, it opened fine the first time, but now as soon as i open it it pops up a box that says

Cant access file database : an index cannot be created: unable to open database file'

When i click ok another box pops up that says 'the file/users/xxxxlibrary/preferences/ableton/live9.2.2/midicheck.cfg' could not be opened

I've tried deleting the following file as suggested, but there is no file in this folder for me to delete - Macintosh HD:/Users/[Username]/Library/Application Support/Ableton/Live x.x.x/Database

Any ideas what to do?

You can try reinstalling the app, see if that works. OTherwise it might be worth contacting support@ableton.com and see if they can help.

Have you selected a very big folder as your custom plug-in folder? If so, ableton crashes while starting up. You can press alt while starting up ableton, which will prevent the scanning. You then can unselect that folder in the preferences.
