9.5 and 9.2.3 side by side running?
Hello,
I wonder if it is possible to have both versions installed?
I still need to prepare my lessons for school with Version 9.2.3 because it will take some time to install Version 9.5 also in school and the 9.5 projects won't be backward compatible!
But of course I want to install 9.5 to have a look and test the new features.
Normally it is no problem to have an older version installed but this time the whole library is also affected, so this might be a problem...
Maybe some "updater" can test the scenario for me and tries to open the (renamed) 9.2.3 version after the installation of 9.5 ???
Would be awesome...
Best
Stefan

I think you can install it to a separate directory.
So be sure to do that, and do not open any old projects in the new version or they won't be openable in the old one.

answered by myself by taking the risk...
Maybe interesting for others too...
Rename your 9.2.3 Version before dragging the 9.5. version to your applications folder, then you can use both...
cheers

I think it's more difficult on Windows. There are known solutions. Try 2 different directories.
Multiple versions are discouraged by Ableton. but on Mac at least, I've found little or no side-effects. At least that I've noticed.
Make some music!
