im trying to have the nanokontrol 2's mute buttons act as on/off switches instead of momentary switches. is this possible? i downloaded the "korg kontrol editor" but have no idea what im doing

Usually there's a 'behavior' called 'momentary' or 'toggle'.
Momentary means 'during the moment you are pressing it' it changes to a value then goes back to default value.
Toggle means each time you press it, it switches between values.
This is mostly for midi cc. If it uses note values, there may be similar options but Live maps midi notes with certain kinds of behaviors on its own.
