Live version in M-Audio FW 410

Post by ap2 » Sat Jun 25, 2005 3:04 pm

I just ordered an M-Audio Firewire 410, and the selesman told me that there is a version of live4 with serial number included.
Anyone knows what version is this (eg. lite) and what limitations does it have?
Rewire ?, is it limited to work only with the fw-410 connected, or can i use it with
other soundcards too ?
And what about the serial number, does it need registration and unlock like the
full version ? Upgrade path to 5 ?...

So thanks in advance, i'd like to know these..

I bought a 410, that started me out on Live. Version that came with it was Live Delta 2.1. I can't tell you if what you would get is the same version. I upgraded it to Live 4 for $299 about 4 months ago.

Live Delta 2.1 has a 10 track and 5 scene limit (quite frustrating), fewer effects, no midi. But as I said, no idea if M-Audio still bundle the same version, you'd have to ask them.

Im pretty sure he is just refering to the package deal (ableton sells many of them now). It should just be a normal version of live with a 410 together.

Thanks to all.
No its the retail version not the live bundle.

So about this Live delta version, does it have rewire, and does it need the fw410 connected in order to work ?

Anyway i'm waiting the package this week..

I basicallyupgraded from Delta before I played with it much, so the answers I'm gonna give are guesses, I'm afraid...

you can use it fine with only the internal soundcard connected and that as it doesn't have midi or vst, that it wouldn't have rewire.

FWIW.

Hey all....I am happy to chime in here....

Until around January most of our interfaces shipped with Live Delta version 2
Since then we have now switched over to Live Lite 4.

Basically it has all of the same features of Live 4, but has a Track Limit and I believe a scene limit.

4 Tracks of Audio
2 Tracks of Midi
20 scenes

There may be a few other minor limitations, but that is the gist....and I do believe there is rewire support, but don't quote me....I will see if I can track that info down!
