Loud Fan Noise When Using LIVE

Hi!
I have a 2011 MBP using LIVE 9.5 over a Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 interface. As soon as I start even an empty session in LIVE my MBP fans kick in all the way at 6200 RPM making it impossible to record mics in the same room. I don't think it was ever this extreme before.

How is it with your fan noise?

You could try resetting the SMC on the MBP. Google reset SMC.

@granted : Thanx! That definitely helped. The fan still goes on but it is a lot better than before.

Do you use an external display?

Not always. Sometimes. But it was loud with and without a second display.

any cpu-heavy plugins in your default set?
i have a 2011 mpb with external display and it behaves pretty well until i throw some hungry plugs into the set.
just fitted new fans in mine - they were starting to rattle under load.

The airways and vents might need need cleaning out. My old Sony used to sound like it was about to lift off and had started to perform really badly. After cleaning out all the dust and cat hair it's like having a new computer - hopefully still got years of useful service left in it.
