Reason rewire session tacking on 70% Ableton CPU

Post by alexfsu » Sun Jan 31, 2016 4:54 am

I have a Reason session with a drum kit and like six synths. Reason is super low on CPU usage as it is, any idea why the rewire is maxing me out? When I close out the Reason session Ableton goes back to like 11%, but when I play the rewire its up to around 85%.

There is a multicore rewire support option you might need to turn on in Ableton's preferences.

Your CPU needs to be multicore for this to work.

That option is greyed out for me, any clue why?

What version of Reason? 32 or 64 bit OS?

Anyone know why this would be happening? Ableton support is stumped, there's a first.

I'm seeing the same thing on a brand new MacBook Pro. The Live CPU meter hovers around 10% at idle, with only one MIDI track. Playing back old songs that worked with an earlier version of Live 9 is totally impossible. Just opening the song file raises the Live CPU meter to 40-50%.

Live 9.6
Reason 8.3

I'm having this problem too, idling cpu goes way up. At about 71% of usage when playing the song (track has about only 4 layers)
