I have an external hardware mono fx that would like to use in a track with audio samples. It looked easy: I used an external effect device with correct "to the effect" and "from the effect" signal path (using one output and one input in my sound card), but if my hardware fx is at 100% wet I still hear a mono dry sound from the audio sample in Ableton.
I would like to listen to the effect 100% wet, without the dry sound, and tweak the wetness from the fx hardware itself.
Am I missing something?

Re: External mono FX question
You are using it as an insert? What is the dry/wet control of the external effect device set to?
Re: External mono FX question
Hi snakedogman, yes I'm using it as insert with the "External Audio Effect" device.
The external fx is a filter cutoff that I open and close manually.
So I would like to obtain the same behavior that I would have like this setup:
hardware synth -> mono filter fx -> Ableton
but using a sort of loopback in the daw in order to play any sound/synth in Ableton and route them to the filter like the path shown above, recording its output.
What do you think about it?

Re: External mono FX question
it sounds to me like it should work, as long as the External Audio Effect device is set to 100% wet and the routing is correct.
Re: External mono FX question
You're right, I had a configuration in my soundcard with a dry sound added.
Now it works. Cheers
