Chord and melody help

Hi guys I need help, I have come up with some catchy chords I like and also a melody but im stuck, I want to use a different sound for the melody, I have nexus vst loaded up into a track, when I record my chords how do I load up a new sound to play the melody, im using too keyboards aswell which I want to play both chords and melody on each, again how do I load up a different sound but keep the sound ive recorded with the chords

You put your melody on another track. Is that too obvious?
