changing live session presets via scene change or midi ctrl?
is there anything like this for changing presets? so that an effect can change or morph depending on the scene or controlled by a program change or midi control msg? would be great for live performance,
thanks
thanks

some vst do that with bankselect
omnisphere or lives native instruments do that not
some vsts make unwatetd noises if you change via bankselect

Live's MIDI Clips support MIDI program changes as well as bank changes:
https://www.ableton.com/en/manual/clip- ... ram-change
Now the key thing is:
your plug-in has to recognize those MIDI program changes.
Live's internal instruments and effects don't do that.
Some 3rd party plug-ins do (u-he, GFroce, NI etc.), check your plug-in manual.
For sending MIDI PC to an effect in Live is a bit tricky, see my thread here:
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=221041
For stuff not supporting MIDI PC, you can switch between chains:
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=184758
It's not as efficient as using MIDI PC, since you have a plug-in instance for every presets/configuration.
Finally, there's always stuff like ClyphX or M4L to recall a certain status of an instrument/effect, but I've got no experience with that.

Clyphx can take a 'snapshot' of parameters and store it in a clip. Triggering the clip resets the device to the desired parameters.

does this work for audio unit plugins as well or only live's devices?
