I have an Apollo Quad Core.

I also have a UAD 2 Quad card but I haven't bought the Thunderbolt adapter for my Mac yet.

I have a UAD Quad PCI and an Apollo (silver) quad. I have been wanting to get a UAD Satellite, thunderbolt for my laptop. Be prepared to spend a bunch of money on UAD plugins, it can get quite addictive. They usually have a sale during the summer (going on right now) and you can get stuff a lot cheaper. I will say the fact Ableton doesn't have mono channel sucks a bit when using UAD. Since stereo channels require more processing, with some plugins it can greatly reduce the number you can run. So when working on large mixing projects I tend to do them in Logic. Be sure to check out the UAD instance chart that shows how many of each plugin you can run with your setup. http://www.uaudio.com/support/uad/compa ... chart.html
One the flip side it is cool to know that you are guaranteed a certain amount of processing.

Other than that, I love my UAD plugins and use them all the time, they really do sound amazing.
