That helps. I work in software and know my way around javascript and some QA environments, but am not a developer, so that sounds right up my alley. I also found that figuring out how I'd like to perform my music can be a time consuming task.

Oh it is! It took me almost as long as learning to make music in the first place.
But honestly?! It's just as much fun (Especially if you have a bit of an engineering mindset to begin with)
It's pretty much like building your own instrument

Ever figured this one out?

I would love to have it the other way around:

- Work with the clip launch grid as it does out-of-the-box in Akai's script.
- Manually map ("hard-wire") the faders per my own needs.

For anyone interested: I just received the unit and tested it. It seems I was searching for answers to a non-issue.

I can midi-map the faders to whatever I want using Ableton's native midi-mapping. That simple overwrites their purpose. The grid will work just the same.

And I'm quite impressed with the build quality. Much better than the Novation Launchkey that I once had.

Just a tip: protect the fader part from dust when you don't use it. Otherwise the faders become quite jumpy after only a little while and you'll have to open the device to clean them.
