Karaoke Track

Post by dezy dez » Mon Jul 04, 2016 10:46 pm

I am quite a novice when it comes to the technical side of music. for the past 1 year i have been using Audacity for one reason only. i would 1st upload a karaoke track from a website i subscribe to. i would then save that karaoke track as a mp3 file and then i would record my voice over that karaoke track. after i am satisfied with my recording, i would save my recording as a mp3 file.

i would like to know how can i achieve the same result with using ableton live 9? my os is windows 7 professional and it is a 64 bit system. thanx in advance for any help.

Live doesn't export as MP3, you'd still need to use another app to do that step. Otherwise yes it will do what you want.

Thank you for your response. What app would you recommend I use? Does Live export music other than mp3 format?

Live will export to Wav/Aiff so you need a program to convert to MP3 (of which there are many free options out there).
