No track color option in Live 9.6

Post by last email » Sun Jul 10, 2016 11:13 am

When adding new tracks in live 9.6, why (no track color/transparent) is not available anymore? The transparent/no color option was making live’s GUI much more clearer and easier to the eye.
From Live’s preferences\Look Feel\Track and clip colors, you can’t choose (transparent/no color).

Am I missing something?

Probably because that would not work with Push, tracks must always be some color.

It might be, but in Live's version 9.0.6 this option (no color/transparent) was still available. I think Push was already out and working properly with Live 9.0.6.

I believe this was changed in Live 9.5 when Push 2 was released, since much of it's display information is color coded with the track or clip color.

Disable"Auto Assign Track Colors"
Set the "Default Track Color" to the background color of your set.
It's the same as "transparent/no color".

The only skin that matches the track color is the disco skin. All other wont match, not even default or default 8 skin. Personally I'm using the clouds skin and there's no track color to match it.

Perhaps the developers could add the colors of each skin to Live's pallet color. This way it will be like having the "transparent color option" again.

One final observation, when clicking on a track lane in the arrangement view to highlight it, the name area of the track (right side) is not highlighted. In previous versions the name area of each track had the same color as the highlighted track lane. This made much easier to distinguish highlighted tracks in the project, especially when you have many folder tracks.
