Weird delay effect between synthesizers

I'm working on a session that has two distinct synth sounds - I have Ableton's Operator playing a repeating arpeggio, and I have a pad I made in FM8 with a long release on it. I'm getting a weird effect where the the Operator seems to be causing the FM8 pad to have this delay-type effect - I can't really explain it better than that. When the FM8 is solo'd there's no problem. I tried bouncing both these tracks to audio because I thought it might be some weird midi routing issue, but the problem persists. Obviously the audio from Operator is causing some kind of reaction that is effecting the sound of the pad, but what is it and how do I correct it? Any ideas? Thanks!
