Live 9 + Win 10 + RME = OK?

Post by solestarr » Fri Aug 12, 2016 8:36 pm

Hi all,

after years with XP and my good ol' Profire 610 I'm starting a new setup pretty soon:

Win 10
intel i5 / 3,2 GhZ
8 GB RAM
RME Fireface UC
Live 9

I know it's just another "is this setup ok"-post, but what do you think, any experiences with a similar setup (LIve 9 + Fireface etc.) or any recommendations to change something?

* Cheers

Anything with RME in it = OK.

Best driver support in the industry.

Based on my experience: it runs just fine, very stable.

I'm on windows 10 with a UCX and it runs better than it does on my mac. windows 10 was really a big step up audio-wise (I was on 7 previously). low latency and much more solid. I've had problems with videos in Live on windows 10 but that's another matter... The RME is pretty rock solid.

I was running a profire for years as well and was pretty annoyed that they stopped supporting it, so I splurged and bought an rme ufx. It works great with windows 10 and although I still use firewire, with modern usb chipsets rme's firewire and usb drivers perform the same. go for it
