Hi

I have the exact same problem with windows 10 64bit. Do you have the problem since the new Version?
Im a new ableton user so this is my first version. It can't be a Hardware issue because my Pc is powerful and I don't have any issues with other daws.

Thanks

Try to use MME Windows driver. Problem ist gone. Or install Bitwig, Start Bitwig then Ableton, Problem is gone also. Try! It's a bug in Ableton.

This is not a good solution because mme driver have higher latency. Is this a bug with the newest ableton version ? Because I couldn't find many with this problem ?

I know about the latency. Ableton AG confirm this Bug. MME or Bitwig are the only solution that I've found.

I've downloaded a demo version of Bitwig and tried to launch it on a background. And yes, problem is dissapeared. But it don't sound for me like a good way to solve a problem.

I've noticed that this zoom lag happens only on long clips (2 bars - size of a simple drum loop), and there is two another ways that can help, but they don't looks like a solution to me.

1) Load every audio clip into RAM. When i do it, the problem is gone, but it's really anoying and slows down a workflow, because you need to click on RAM function on every clip. Plus i think it's not good to overload your RAM.
2) Change ASIO driver to MME, but it's not an option at all, because latency of MME driver is too long.

Maybe it's an audio interface compability problem (Focusrite Scarlett 2i2). If so then it's gonna be really sad. Because i have my Ableton copy with this audio interface.

Hey M8, ive also have a Focusrite Interface. It must be a Ableton Bug. Did you have installed all Windows driver corectly?
Witch Computer and OS do you have?
1)Try the Focusrite Beta Driver!
2)Try Ableton in Beta Version!
3)if you Switch off Push, Probleme is gone?

Hi, m4ind.

My computer:
OS: Windows 8.1
CPU: Intel Core I5-6600K
MotherBoard: ASUS Z170-A
GPU: NVIDIA GTX950 (already tried with onboard graphic card, same results)
RAM: 8GB DDR4
SSD for system and ableton live
HDD 7200rpm for samples

1) Thank you. I'll try it. Don't really know does scarlett 2i2 (2nd gen) have beta drivers for windows or not. I'll check.
2) Do you mean last beta version? Live 9.7b9 RC2?
3) I don't have Push, but i have other midi controllers (akai lpd8, novation launchkey mkII). I'll try to switch them off.

Thanks, m4ind. I'll post my results a little bit later.

So,

I tried to disconnect all usb/midi controllers, it didn't help.
Then i decided to try beta driver for focusrite and performance is become better. It's still not ideal, cause zoom in/out of audio clip slows down at some point and loading it into RAM is the only solution for smooth movement.

I hope that Ableton or Focusrite will find a better solution.

m4ind, thanks for your help.

You dont have a Push Controller? My problem comes only from the Connection with push.
Did you always had the problem?
What about win 7? Have you ever Test it?
