Yeah, Link spread like wildfire on iOS. NI is one of the developers that would most greatly benefit by implementing Link.
It is only a matter of time.
Plus, Link would help people finally be able to sync Traktor with Maschine or with Live.
Ableton Link. It's not just for apps anymore.

I would like a stand alone Link to Midi type program. That would eliminate the need for an iOS device when syncing hardware with Link. Just a midi cable or usb cable coming out of your computer to your drum machine/groove box. Midi clock is OK but doesn't stay in sync like Link. Plus Link rules!
Re: Ableton Link. It's not just for apps anymore.
Well, you can do link to link, but when connecting hardware, the hardware does not support Link. So you'll probably resort to midi clock for that particular part of the connection.
But yes, a basic software that simply Links with basic tempo and latency controls and in/out choices similar to apps of the same variety would be handy..... I'm just not sure it would offer anything that Live doesn't already do with midi clock??

It's a really cool move by Ableton & Props. It's nice to see such an open collaboration.
And hopefully Propellerhead will keep on giving meaningful point updates to R9.

Traktor is adding Link (and a step sequencer).
