Post by NoSonic822 » Wed Sep 28, 2016 8:22 am

Windows made my pc go through this automatic update, where it changed like a lot of the system, it was like a major update on the 24th. and now the cpu meter is all buggy, it used to be constant 9%, now it's sporadically jumping all around 9 10 11 15 %...wtf....

i tried re installing all stuff but it's stull buggin out...

Is there a check list producers on Windows 10 share that you can tick off post-update?

you mean "minimum processor state"? like in the power management advanced options?, ive had that always on 20%, i dont think the update changed that setting, but i will try changin it anyway, thanks. i've spent like 3 days now trying to figure out what the hell happened. it's so annoying.

This is why I turned off updates while they still had a group policy editor on Windows 10 Professional, lol

You can't do that even in Professional any more?

Well I can't say for certain because I obviously have not run the update, but the word is that in an update a couple months ago they removed access to gpedit even on professional. Now your only option is enterprise, which apparently can't be bought on a single-license basis.

Again, this is all second hand information. I'm not much of a computer whiz, and I haven't seen it in action myself. But there was a big hubbub about it on a music forum full of very computer savvy people whom I happen to believe

It's worth noting that one of the reasons everyone was so upset was that one of the functions that was removed was the ability to put a stopper on Windows advertising directly into your Start menu, which was apparently done through group policy. Now these small business owners have no say over whether their employees are able to click the little Candy Crush ad in their start menu, or whatever it may be. Pretty sleazy if you ask me.

I have a hard time accepting this is happening. But according to multiple news sites it is.
