Record the midi of midi effects in midi clips?

Post by suhler » Thu Sep 29, 2016 8:26 pm

Hi everyone,

I just got the M4L pack tricky traps and had a blast playing with the midi effects.

However, I never used midi effects before and I'm puzzled how I now should finalise the track in arrangement view. Do you record everything on an audio track to be able to arrange it? Or do you just play with the volume in the arrangement view? Or is there a way to record the created midi from the midi effect on a midi clip so I can do my arrangement with midi clips?

Last method would be the best, because it would allow for further tweaking synth automation and other parameters. Anyone know if that is possible? I can't stand using audio clips because the synth parameters can't be tweaked anymore. Well, they can, but it's sooo much work to prepare every single audio clip.

I appreciate your inputs :)

Press the I/O button, create a new midi track. In this new track, select the track with the effect in the "midi from" input. Record a clip on the new track, that's it !
