Hey guys (and gals)
Been using Ableton for many yrs now, and never had this problem b4. I run my audio thru a MOTU ultra lite (to soundboard) and run my video thru HDMI out of my computer to the video wall. The audio sends to the soundboard no problem, and the video drags over to the led wall no problem.
Yesterday at a show... every time I would connect my HDMI to the computer, it would KICK OUT (off) my MOTU, and would no longer allow me to send the audio to the interface. Strange. First time that has happened in 3 years! When I unplug my HDMI, the MOTU would show back up, under audio preferences... but when I plugged it back in, the MOTU would dis appear again! Super weird.
I had to play the show with no video, so my audio would at least be correct.
Any ideas on why this would be happening?
Thx.

Re: Lose my interface when I plug in my HDMI
PC or Mac ? If Mac , which OS ?. I believe El Capitan introduced some problems with audio defaulting to HDMI output when it is plugged in......

Yosemite does it too

But you say your interface disappears from the audio preferences in Live ? What happens to the system preferences for default audio output ?

Re: Lose my interface when I plug in my HDMI
I have a PC system and I believe that when I plug in an HMDI connector, a set of related audio drivers gets installed, that at the very least overrides the system audio drivers. I have to go to device manager and disable (or delete) them.
