Midi mapping (sends from different channel)
Midi mapping (sends from different channel)
Hi there,
I've a question for macro / midi mapping option in Live:
I've created a midi channel with an instrument rack -> external instrument -> sub37 editor plugin (this is a plugin to control a Moog Sub 37 synthesizer).
So I can play midi, which is send to the Sub37 synthesizer. The audio from the synthesizer I can hear with another audio channel.
Ok, now I control several function of the sub 37 editor (and, therefore, the sub 37 synthesizer) with ONE macro (e.g., cutoff, sustain, filter drive aso), which is great and which is exactly want I wanted.
My question is: Is it possible to use THIS macro (which already controls all the stuff mentioned above) and map a send from another channel (the audio channel, which gets the sound from the sub37)???
So, I guess my question is, is it possible to map SENDS to a macro of ANOTHER channel?
Thanks in advance

Re: Midi mapping (sends from different channel)
Not natively no... The macros can only control what they contain within the rack...

Any other 'tricks' additional plugins / Max for Live solutions?S4racen wrote:Not natively no... The macros can only control what they contain within the rack...

YEs, MultiMapper for Maxforlive should do it, whatever you want to do you just need to be able to have a macro inside the rack that is mapped to something outside it...

How about the native External Instrument instrument?Jubai wrote:Any other 'tricks' additional plugins / Max for Live solutions?S4racen wrote:Not natively no... The macros can only control what they contain within the rack...

NativeKontrols Clyphx (free as in beer) contains Macrobat nk_Receiver racks which make this incredibly easy.
