I have attempted to record MIDI in from a sequence I made on the MPC and replace the sounds in the MPC with a Drumrack. The Drumrack has the same sounds mapped to the MPC MIDI, effectively replacing the MPC with Ableton so I can continue the MIDI work in Ableton.
However, the MIDI segments recorded from the MPC are too short and they barely even trigger the Drumrack so I hear either nothing or barely anything.
Any ideas?

Either change the amp envelopes of the samples (probably the better idea)
Or add a 'note length' midi device.

It makes sense that the notes are very short. When you tap a pad on the MPC, it only records the period during which the pad was depressed. Only a fraction of a second if you're banging something out.
Do an experiment and see if keeping the pads depressed longer than just a tap will record a longer note duration.
