Alternative set templates for Live

Post by Per Boysen » Sat Jan 14, 2017 5:07 pm

Hi guys,

I'm looking for a way to save set templates for Live? I mean, typically thirty to fifty tracks pre-loaded with instruments and adequate effects. So far, I have only been able to use the pref's "Save Current Set as Default". Is this the only option? I know that both Logic and Bitwig offers a "Save as Template" on the file menu, but I can't find anything like that in Live.
Greetings from Sweden

There's no templates, you'd need to save each one as a seperate project file and then load those when you need them.

There is no template as a file type, still Live has a mechanism for it.

Create a folder named "Templates" in your user library and save those sets there. Sets loaded from this folder will start unnamed.

It's even in the manual: 5.5.4 Template Sets, last paragraph.
