Best way to connect 2 laptops to link ?
Best way to connect 2 laptops to link ?
We want to use 2 laptops with link in order to have common audio routed to studio monitors.
External device is Pioneer T1 dj controller usb connected to laptop 1 as mixer (and interface) and connected to monitors.
What is the best way to connect and route laptop 2 to achieve this setup?

Use Link, but hade the audio from the second laptop only go through the audio audio channel of the mixer, not into the mixer, through the computer and then back out.
Not sure of the features of that particular mixer, but hopefully it would allow that.

Ohhh. For the actual linking. That depends on a lot of things.
I haven't tried it with just a LAN cable between computers before. I have tried it with:
Wifi
Adhoc
LAN cables into a router
And the cables into the router was the most stable. The adhoc seemed to work well. Wifi should work well depending on how your computer and your router handle things.
I'll try the cable between computers method today

Let me know how it works

I tried it on two laptops with Windows 10 for maybe 8 to 12 min and it worked. You'd probably need to do more extensive testing to make sure.
