hi,
when i arm a midi track and record a clip, it plays the clip I've recorded fine. But as soon as i un-arm that track, it plays slightly out of time.
Does anyone know how to fix this? It's extremely annoying.
thanks

I think you mean as soon as you stop recording? Likely you're not stopping on a bar end, but before or after the bar and therefore playback is off. I assume you started on a bar.tomf wrote:hi,

Go to the left of the transport for the Quantization Menu and make sure it's set to a bar, or multiple if you prefer that. I use 1 bar, as that means the recording will continue until the end of the current bar. Of course, if I'm late at stopping I will get an additional bar tacked on.
If you actually mean when unarming, you will have to supply some more details.

No the clip is recorded perfectly, the notes are quantised 100%.
Its one bar long, when i run the metronome the notes play in perfect timing with the metronome, as soon as i arm the track, the notes are out of time with the metronome (they are being delayed by a few milliseconds)

Do you have Reduced Latency when Monitoring on by any chance?tomf wrote:No the clip is recorded perfectly, the notes are quantised 100%.

Re: Arm record timing problem
yes that is on.
I noticed that if i deleted a return track, the problem was gone.
on the return track i had an external audio effect plugin. as soon as i deleted that it was fine. I had 9 returns, now i have 8, does the amount of returns make a difference then?
thanks

+1. On some sets, that causes problems.antic604 wrote:It would appear that this 9th send track with external plugin was adding significant latency which was compensated for when recording, but isn't when playing? Try disabling the above mentioned option instead (for playback).tomf wrote:yes that is on.
