I have a 2 versions of a bass line for a track I'm working on. The 2nd version has slightly different notes, but I would like to use the velocity data (without the notes of course) from the 1st version. I'm playing and recording everything in. I'm wondering if there's any way to copy JUST the velocity data from the 1st version and apply it to the notes of the 2nd version. Thanks!

Ya, I bet you could do that in the 'envelope' within the clip. it would be the little.

Or if you've some experience program you could write it out in language.


I checked the envelope and I don't see a velocity feildset...

My other advice if none of the above works would be to copy the notes and then just shift them to the pitch, it's kinda a cheap hack but if nothing else works... that's assumming the midi is written and not played via instrument, but hey. maybe that can work for your idea

i found the velocity envelope... it's in the arrangement view... not in the session view. you could ctrl c ctrl v it there

or program with the velocity midi effect

It's not just about timing; when you drag a .agr file into a midi track it's essentially velocity events.

So extract the groove from your first bassline, set the velocity to 100% when applying it to the second one, timing parameters to taste.

A wonderfully simple method with the additional preference to be potentially non-destructive.
