Live takes way to long to freeze tracks- crashes

Post by tintala » Fri Apr 14, 2017 2:42 pm

Im on pc w-7 64 bit , z97 a mb, i7 core 4.0 ghz cpu, 32 gb ram, 9.7

Live will take 10 minutes to freeze a track with one vst on the track, sometimes it wont freeze the track at all. I am having to freeze all tracks now and my rig should beable to handle alot of processing. The red disk lite lights up alot hence bouncing all tracks now. i have about 35 tracks in a project, live is performing worse and worse... why would it take so long to freeze a basic track? it used to bounce a track very quickly. my hd is only half full.

Sometimes a single vst can be a cpu hog. Also depends on the patch with the vst.

Perhaps you have 32 bit vsts in your 64 bit folder etc

Seems your PC should be freezing tracks faster gioven your system

As I pointed out in your other thread, I would urgently check that it's not your SSD that is about to give up the ghost.

Tried setting Power Management / Advanced to highest? The Advanced tac option is easy to miss.

I forget the exact steps but its under Control Panel etc
