Send/Return Help

Post by J0n35y » Fri Apr 14, 2017 9:21 pm

Hello

Looking for a pointer on this. Tried searching but probably not using the right terms to get lucky.

What I'm trying to do is have x tracks simultaneously send their audio to a return track (lets just say return A). I presume the only way to do this is by grouping? The second part is that I want to have the track audio effectively cross fade out as I increase the send. I'm positive I'm just missing something obvious here with using "sends only" or something like that but I can't seem to get things to work how I want. Is the solution to set up my return tracks with "dry/wet" set to 0% to manage the fade in that way? It seems to do the trick but the whole things feels a little clunky.

Like I say, I'm probably being a moron. I don't tend to use Ableton this way but keen to learn some new tricks to breathe life into things (hopefully!).

yes, group track is the way for sending all channels to an fx simultaneously.

for your other question:
