Hands-on polyrhytmic drums?

Post by Zygi » Sun Apr 16, 2017 9:00 am

Hi there.

I am a long fan of polyrhytms in music, but I always find it somewhat awkward to program polyrhytmic drums, in the Live-box.

Is there a different, less clumsy way to do it other than routing separate midi tracks into a drum rack?

I do have a Push mk1, so the easiest way would probably be to upgrade to a Suite with max4live... Or maybe I should perhaps throw in a Circuit or BeatstepPro, just for the sake of easier polyrhythms?

I kinda don't want to tinker with them too much, not to compromise the workflow. The multi-input drum rack works for now, but I might easily be missing something.

Cheers and thanks in advance for help!

Hi You can download polyrhythm clips and save it in your folder, drag and drop into midi track on an instrument track or drum rack to test how it feels within your track.

max for live has some polymetric and polyrhythmic devices for download. time and timber is a good one for purchase. Go to m4l website to find free ones. there are a few...

hope this helps
