I'd take the bcr over the bcf any day. I hate flying faders.

Zizi, can you please elaborate? HOW has the problem been solved? Was it something to do with Live? Or the BCF?

As far as I can tell it was a loopback problem. Normaly the master has to manage the loopback. But ableton live causes an endless loop.

If this is just a bug or a flaw by design, i don't know. (I'm not a beta tester for live5, maybe it's solved now)

Behringer engineers got around that problem, the only thing to do is a firmware update.

You don't really need the editor if you read the manual. I find it easier to edit all the params on the BCR itself. Of course, I also like reading manuals and twiddling knobs on my synths a lot.

do you need any special preset for the behringer? How did you set it up?

Thanks
I have my BCF set in Mackie mode all the time as i use it with Cubase SX too. It's a simple hold a button and swith it on or something like that to get it into Mackie mode (i think it says in the manual or somewhere). In Live5 go to the Preferences page and set the Remote Control section to Mackie Emulation and it just worked.

We'd be greatfull (the royal we) if you could give us some details on the benefits of using the BCF2000 in Mackie Control Mode with Live 5

I've been playing around with this a bit, and so far it works a bit...

In Logic emulation it also does up to 8 FX sends per channel, but I can only use the BCF viewer in Cubase mode. A 100% emulation with the BCF viewer would rock!

Edit - In Logic emulation you can use multiple plugins per channel too.

I've done some more testing and it looks like the Cubase emulation works better after all...

The feedback util is great (you can place it anywhere on the screen and always on top) as it updates when you select another track or plug-in and you can reach all params of the plug-in with buttons on the BCF.

:D

you only have the fighting faders problem when you set the midi preferences to send midi data to the bcf. It's not necessary unless you like the look of all the faders following the volume changes as the song plays.

But ableton said they were going to fix it in live 5. i suppose that is what the mackie emulator is all about...

I think only the BCF has the emulation mode, but more testing revealed it still is buggy (in Cubase emulation - I'm going back to Logic mode now).

start up holding down the 5th buttion on the top from the left and you have it works fine but there is a problem with protools 6.9.2

That's Baby HUI mode -> it doesn't work at all here (are you using 1.10?).

Logic mode (3rd button) works fine, but the display emulation doesn't work with that. :(
