A few months back Computer Magazine put out an edition with a video in which they tried to build a track in an hour. It's on youtube now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fes5quapDgs
Having already built my own instrument racks containing all my fav kicks, snares, claps etc, I really like the idea of having one midi channel like the one in this track called "beat" where I can draw in midi patterns to make quick ideas, but retain the dif channels below that channel for each sample. It gives the speed of a drum rack without restricting you to the confines of a drum rack.
Can anyone explain how to do this? I can't find anything online. Thanks!?
