Authorising live on 2nd mac

Hi, I run live 8 on an old mbp which has max os of 10.6.8. I bought a more recent mbp and want to authorise live 8 on it, with a view to upgrading to live 9. It seems I have to update my original live 8 to latest update before proceeding. Obviously I cannot do that with a max os of 10.6.8. Any suggestions? Thanks.
