Exporting MIDI tempo information

Post by diegux » Sat Jul 22, 2017 1:40 pm

Hi , I cannot seem to find a way to export a MIDI tempo map from Live.
What am I missing?

Thanks a lot, best

Tempo is on the master. There are no clips on the master. You can only export MIDI clips.

What you want to extract is a MIDI tempo map. I know of no way to do this in Ableton Live. Best I can think of is to make high pitched sync track, with quick little bursts most likely, to export separately — not for human audible playback — and use this audio for re-creating the tempo map in whatever other DAW.
Make some music!

Thanks!

That is a very clever workaround, and will save my work.

Seems really weird to me not to have a plain export tempo as midi option...you need that in order to collaborate with other people.

I mean, we are talking about a real basic feature here...
