Plugins not working/seen

Post by doopghost » Thu Aug 10, 2017 6:45 pm

Hi. I have Ableton Live 9 64bit. I'm having issues with a lot of plugins that are not recognized by ableton: for example these vocoders
https://tal-software.com/products/TAL-Vocoder
http://mda.smartelectronix.com/

I copied the dll files in my vst folder but even after a rescan Ableton doesn't see them. It is because they are 32 bit ? If so, there are free 64 bit vocoders out there ? I'm starting to think that installing the 64 bit could have been a mistake. I can't even use Sylenth :(

Thanks a lot for the help! :)

No you can't use a 32bit plugin in 64Bit Live unless you use something like Jbridge, I've no experience of it myself...

Cheers

Ok, that's what I was afraid of. So, basically, I have three choices If I understand it correctly
A) I reinstall Ableton in 32bit: will I still be able to open the projects I created with the 64bit versions ?
B) Find a 64 bit vocoder. Any good vocoders at 64bit ?
C) This Jbridge has issues ?

Yeah if all your plugins are legit, you can get the 64bit version of most of the ones you mentioned from the vendors. Most mainstream/popular plugins were made 64bit a long time ago.

I have the old version of Sylent, unfortunately: not sure if there's a 64bit version of that: I'll look it up, thanks :)
I just found the 64 Tal version: got the wrong link, my bad :)
