Multiple ranges in chain selector

Post by gerundio » Wed Sep 06, 2017 1:13 pm

Hi everyone, this is my first post in the forum.

I started using Live 4 months ago and now in the willing of building a single project with all the songs of a performance I'm investigating Instrument Racks and External Instruments.
I use mainly VSTs both played and sequenced.

I'm beginning to understand the concept and how to set racks for my needs but I feel I miss the chance to define multiple ranges in Chain Selectors and Keys. This would allow me to create several combinations of stacked instruments when I or a sequence play the same notes on severals VSTs just by creating different combination of ranges in chain selector, instead of adding unuseful External Instrument tracks.

The same on keys, that would allow for a more advanced definition of splitting through various zones of the keyboard.

The question is: in your opinion I'm looking at racks from a wrong point of view?

Thanks.

Yes, this is something that really help conserve memory resources, as to achieve this you need to duplicate the instrument in the chain.

+1 for this
