How to use Remote25 with live

Post by zenke » Mon Sep 11, 2017 7:22 pm

Hi
I have an old Novation Remote25 which i would like to use with Live.
I am having trouble with setting it up in preferences / midi / control surfaces.
Any idea anyone how I would do this, i.e which control surface might i use?

I am using Live 9 and I have Automat installed

Thanks for any help
Jamie

I've just acquired an old Novation Remote 25SL Compact which I've got working no problem on my MacBook Pro running Sierra.

My settings are:

First "Choose RemoteSL" as the Control Surface, and "Remote SL Compact port 2" as Input and Output.

Then in MIDI ports
use Remote SL (Port 1) at Track Input and Remote
and Remote SL Compact (Port 2) as Track and Remote.

use Output: Remote SL (Port 1) as Track and Sync.

Maybe that will help? Worth a try.

I sometimes turn off Track on Inout Port 2 and just use that Port for Remote as an easy way to use my drum pads to trigger scenes and not play MIDI instruments as well.

Perhaps it's not much help, but when I upgraded to sierra, I had to upgrade a bunch of drivers on my older m-audio midi controller... and my focusrite interface as well. Maybe you need to update drivers.
