Live 10 public beta

Post by antic604 » Thu Nov 02, 2017 10:58 pm

So, after pre-ordering the upgrade from 9 Suite to v10 I decided to participate in beta testing of the latter. I've applied, got my serial number over e-mail, registered it and went to Centercode to d/l it.

I'm at my 3rd attempt and the d/l speeds range between 20 to 40kb/s, which means 2 days to 10h until it's on my HDD.

Is there any other way to d/l the file? I don't think it can be run without the serial, so maybe someone who already have it can share it?

Where were you able to sign up for the public beta? Where was it announced?

Anyone Knows how the Live 10 installation affects Live 9.I,m going to start the beta testing but i don,t want to mess my push with Live 9 because it,s rock solid.
I mean if i update to Live 10 with all the new features on push 2, i will be able to switch back to Live 9 with less features?

Your computer can handle L9 and L10beta without any problem of compatibility.
MacBook Pro 13" Retina i7 2.8 GHz OS 10.13, L10.0.1, M4L.
iMac 27" Retina i5 3,2 GHz OS 10.11.3 L10.0.1 M4L.

No problem running L9 and L10beta alongside, don't worry.
The download can take a while, and lot of people are probably downloading right now... I'm afraid you'll have to deal with this.

I had the same problem. If you follow that link, you'll find a link to subscribe to the beta (on centercode forum), it worked for me. There's a queue though.

A friend of mine just had a link to the 10 Beta program in his user account over on ableton.com yesterday, amongst others. None of that ever on my account, even though I own Suite 9 and preordered 10 already. However, thanks for the link up there, so I could at least queue up for the Beta, hehe :). There must be at least hundreds in that line waiting to be served with modem-speed downloads :D.
But what's the use in that

Well, for years my centercode profile has existed it's been set on "Would you be interested in joining the Ableton alpha or beta team?: Yes"

And I pressed that "yes, put me on the public beta" button yesterday (the first I heard of it), and not a peep out of it.

that's just the way it goes. Eventually it will make its way out into the world. I doubt they want my input.

Did you follow the link up here for signing up for the 10 Beta? I was on Beta 9 for ages as well, but you don't automatically get subscribed to the 10 Beta. Just hit the link and queue up like the others :)!
